Choose safety with reflective film Ultima Reflective EN20471

Guarantee print safety with film that complies with the EN ISO 20471 standard.

There is no room for half measures when it comes to safety. Specialized workwear, as well as uniforms for the police, fire service, paramedics and other uniformed services, must meet strict standards concerning not only visibility, but also durability. Compliance with all the necessary requirements is guaranteed by the EN20471 standard. Only certified film can guarantee that a person wearing high-visibility clothing will be safe and visible after dark from a sufficiently long distance, and that visibility will not be impaired even by the most adverse weather conditions.

This standard also includes durability requirements that high-visibility warning clothing must meet. Working in special conditions requires special resistance to abrasion. Therefore—regardless of the type of clothing we plan to mark—it is worth choosing proven reflective film that has undergone certification and meets the requirements of the EN20471 standard.

Ultima Reflective EN20471

Reflective film holds a special place in our range. In response to specific requirements, a special heat-transfer material was developed. The reflective film Ultima Reflective has undergone a complex certification process, thanks to which it complies with the EN ISO 20471 standard and guarantees exceptional visibility regardless of weather conditions and time of day. In addition, the certificate guarantees an increased level of resistance to abrasion, crushing, stretching, temperature fluctuations, washing at 60°C and drying at 70°C. 

Simple application requirements are another advantage of Ultima Reflective film. The adhesive backing layer makes it easy to weed even the smallest elements. To make the application, you will need a heat-transfer press heated to a temperature between 150°C and 160°C. The heat-pressing process takes 10 to 12 seconds. Ultima Reflective film can be applied to cotton, polyester, and cotton-polyester blends.

Classification of high-visibility clothing and ISO standards

High-visibility clothing is classified according to the required surface areas of the elements providing high visibility and the reflectivity value measured according to the formula cd/(lx*m2). The highest reflective class is Class 3.

The requirements for the European reflective certification are set out in the EN20471 standard.
For the highest class of high-visibility clothing, the retroreflective coefficient at an observation angle of 12° and an illumination angle of 5° is at least 330 units.

Test results for Ultima Reflective film at the same observation angle of 12° and illumination angle of 5° showed an excellent result of 435 units. That is over 30% more than the strict certificates require.
At an observation angle of 12° and an illumination angle of 40°, instead of the 65 units required by the certification, Ultima Reflective achieves as many as 380 units in testing. That is almost 6 times more than the statutory requirements.
During testing, Ultima Reflective film underwent water washing (35 cycles) and chemical cleaning according to ISO3175-2:2010 (10 cycles), and the material passed all these tests successfully.
